IT Technician

Our products are used by major oil & gas companies, independent oil & gas companies, and service companies world-wide to reduce uncertainty, and more accurately understand the subsurface in order to discover, measure, and extract existing and future energy resources.
Geomodeling is poised for significant global growth and expansion. We are seeking an IT Technician in our Calgary office to help us to drive this growth.
Responsibilities:
• Provides end users support for desktop, network and printer issues
• Installation, set up and monthly maintenance desktop systems, printers, network equipment
• Installation and support of specialized Windows and Linux development software
• Document IT environment, equipment, processes and procedures
• Complying with all Company and departmental policies and procedures
• Assist with Network and Server maintenance and technical/user issues
Qualifications:
• Technical diploma – preferred
• Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Minimum of two years experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting,
and supporting the following is essential:
• Windows Servers 2003, Exchange Server 2003
• Antivirus and related security products (Symantec corporate products)
• Backup systems (such as Backup Exec)
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, Firewall technologies, etc)
• Ability to work Independently within a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Mandarin communication (read/write) an asset
