I need a key for my ls400, stampede lexus wants 1000 dollars for one, not even with the transmitter. I am very surprised as toyota lexus parts are usually good prices espically for such a common key.

does anyone know where to get one??

no its not RHD. its a real LS400. if that matters to some.

ebay. I got a PK3 Key AND FOB for $25 on ebay. It would have cost be $250 from Caddilac without the programing.

I got the key cut for $4 and it took 10 seconds to program it to work with my car.

WTF? Key still has to be cut and programmed.

VW dealer wanted $200 for a key and programming, got one on ebay for $70, cut for $25, programmed for free (not that hard on a vw).

So you can find the keys on ebay... just make sure before you bid that the key can be user programmed and there are places in town that can cut the key (Budget did my VW). If there is any part that only the dealer can do forget it because they usually won't touch a key that is not bought from them.

have you tried the actual lexus dealership in the automall?

Plus is it $1000 or $100 (post vs topic). $100 isn't too bad to pay for a key nowadays if it's got a transponder in it. $1000 is a little unreasonable.

I hear that for a few bucks, the Gallery of Fine Cars will cut and program keys for any car you want, just give them the VIN... Gone in 60 Seconds style...

It's still $100. I had to get my LS400 keys replaced last year as well.

$1000 seems quite high and is probably not right. I think the newer Lexus that have the start button key fobs and keys will run you about $300 for key and programming. I think the key fob alone is US$150(US dealership) or $300CAD at Lexus Calgary.

I assume you drive an older LS400 (calgarysupra), it's a laser cut key and they cost more.....simple as that. You need to give Lexus parts your VIN and it comes precut for your car.

is it 1000 or 100???? 100 seems right. 1000 seems wrong.. keys are expensive when u have to program too. why dont u call lexus cuz toyota doesn't carry the Lexus keys and will get them from Lexus then jack them up in price to profit off you. You are better off going strait to Lexus (stampede is no longer Lexus, it's just Toyota now." Toyota keys cost about $120 and that is JUST the key and that includes programming.... so 100 seems to be right,...

Any LS400 will have a transponder which cannot be programmed by the customer.
I just sold my LS400 a few weeks back, and I made sure to include my 2 main keys, the valet key, and the credit-card key, as I know how much of a bitch they are to replace.
