Talked to the guys at source on the weekend (08 Burton Freeride for the woman, Burton P1 bindings for me, new Smith goggles for the both of us ), it is on the weekend of the 23rd this year. It really isn't worth waiting until the sale for a lot of stuff though... we got 40% off of everything right now, and didn't have to dig through piles of crap to find it and fight off the 11 year olds and their moms.
Still going to go to the sale anyways since their outerwear stock is pretty poor right now

Edit: I lied. Smith sunglasses for me, Spy goggles for the both of us

they might have been... I didn't actually turn right around and head home, sat there for about 5 minutes contemplating whether or not I should wait, then left. I didn't see any movement though.

I've gotta pickup my gf from work in a few hours, I might swing by there again on the way home and I'll post again about how the lineups are

I got there at 7:20 and was like 15th in line. First kids were there at like 6:30 I believe. Waited for almost 2 hours. The line got HUGE close to 9:00. Got in, got my snowboard, but wasn't really impressed with the pricing. $580 for $399 for the snowboard I bought. That's only 30% off, shit I could get the same deal online.

3 years ago when I first went, it was sick because they kept it small and everything was around 60% off. Now the thing takes up half of the warehouse and half of Calgary is there today. Their binding selection...shit. Their boot selection was decent but they ran out of my sizes very fast.

Not impressed this year, and you guys about to go after the 1000 people that are going to go this morning, will not like the leftovers of the mob.

bulaian

damn 15th in line and still not able to get bindings... hmmm wonder if it's even worth trying to go in the afternoon.

Just got back. Great deals as usual.

The SB selection SUCKS, and it is NOT 50-60% off, the cheapest pair was $89, and the Prods were $119+

The jacket selection was fucking awesome though, and 40% off all outerwear. Great deals on boots and bindings also (40%). Boards were a good deal as well, the boot and binding selection was pretty limited by the time I left though.

Bags: (packs and luggage) 50% off.
Boards: varies. I got a $725 retail Forum board for $299 so there are definitely good deals to be had on boards if you spend a while looking.
Jackets/outerwear: 40% off with great selection.
Bindings/boots: 40% off.
Accessories/goggles: 50% off.

I spent just under a grand and I think the selection was great on the things I was looking for. I got a Burton travel bag for $125 (reg $250), Volcom Jacket for $239 (reg $442), the Forum board, bindings, goggles (1/2 price), and a few other minor things.

I got there at 9:30, waited in line for a little over an hour, and I think it was well worth my time. When I left at about 12:00 there was no lineup at all.

JVR1
08-22-2008, 04:43 PM
got there at 11:30... picked up a SB jacket, pants and burton gloves.. most varied from 40-50% off..

selection was decent.. lots of large/XL jackets that were nice but fit too big for me. they did have some foursquare stuff from this year that i was surprised to see on sale

i was hoping for a better selection in goggles and bindings but oh well..

still happy 350 bux later.

would have been nice to see better deals on boards, wanted to pick up something to beat up on for the early part of the season or maybe try out one of this libtech bananas.

Ya I must have been a few people behind you, we made it in with the first wave of people. Picked up new SB pants, board bag, day pack, sweat pants and a beanie, and a helmet, jacket, day pack and socks for the fiancee. All set for the season.

Stopped by the sale again today and was advised by a friend working the event that they are extending it until Friday. I was also told that some prices are negotiable at the till as they want to pack up the least amount of inventory possible at the end of the sale so the cashiers have been told to negotiate if required.

In Cali, you'd probably get the same deals that we are getting at this "sale". My board, Graft 158 was $399 ($580 original  ). Online they are $329 free shipping, no tax (for US). So even if you pay GST+customs its $370. Fuck the source sale.

I'm so stoked/stoned for the next season!
