Excel Help

So im running through a budget on Excel for Vista. Its called Quattro Pro X3.

Anyways with no formulas in place or anything i enter a $ amount and it shows up as *******

how do i disable this?

you've formatted the cell as Currency already?

don't enter the $ ?

make the cell bigger ?

i don't know what ****** is haven't seen it before
##### means you need to make the cell bigger
