View Full Version : Let me tell you a story....

As a weary traveller in the emu, I have seen a-many battles, but none so gut wrenching as the one I have encounted tonight!
It began as I was turning onto 64th ave from center street when I saw a pair of brightly glowing eyes (which seemed to change in color with each imperfection of the road) encased in a helmet of silver, slowly inching towards me. These bright eyes had placed me in a spell that only the car behind it could break, for even the driver of the silver beast gave notice. A fiery entity drew closer to the silver beast and a dazzling array of metal that encompassed it's red mouth taunted it's opponent. The two cars were now clear to me and the first was a silver s2k and the latter a red turbocharged civic and the civic was out hunting!

As the two drew nearer to battle, I moved to avoid the fray. The red monster blew by me and the s2k and as I looked back to see if he would give chase, the s2k laid dormant and did not take the civic's bait. The civic then allowed the s2k to gain even ground and once again the civic passed him unchallenged. Frustrated at this, the civic laid back and allowed the s2k to pass without query. As soon as this happened, the s2k then took a sharp left turn Northbound onto deerfoot trail and the civic followed with haste. I too took a great interest and led the emu in the same direction.

As the battle soon ensued, the civic found himself in quite an precarious position. He found himself on a sharp curve pushing his beast to the limits with no avail. The seemingly sleeping driver of the s2k had chosen his battle ground wisely, for now the hunter had become the hunted, and the civic was beginning to lag behind.

After what seemed like an eternity of turning to the civic driver, the s2k almost appeared to be unreachable, but low and behold the power of boost! The civic began to gain on his foe and this was quite uplifting for him. But it seems that fate has an ironic sense of humor for no sooner did the civic approach the s2k did another sharp turn lay before them. As hard braking began, the civic could not bare the challenge of the corner and had to decline his attack. However, the s2k came prepared for this and took that corner as if he had designed it himself. As the corner went further and further up the road way, the civic's brute strength seemed to dwindle for what is power without control?

The civic once again found himself playing catch-up and as surely as he was able to gain ground on his foe, surely another curve retracted his attack.

I soon was too far behind to witness anymore but from where I witnessed this battle, it was a battle of strength vs. dexterity. Had this been a straight forward attack with no curves, bends or corners, the red warrior would have surely been victorious, however, he was lured to where he was at a disadvantage and this became his undoing...:(

you know, every morning I come to this forum in search of greatness and this day has brought me pleasure previously unmatched by story. There really is nothing better than a good knight's tale especially one tied directly into the art of tuning. I can now go through my day with confidence that ricers will see another day.

Corners is fine... it's the damn twisties & transitions where the S2K seems to leave everyone in the dust.

k, i finally read this whole thing through and understood it... why must you make it so complicated for the foreign kid? You know me engwish no good. I couldn't figure out what the hell an "emu" was or had to do with this story. I thought you were using an acrnym. :banghead: Now, I know you were talking about lynsi's truck. Anyways, good story telling.... it only took me 5 days to understand it.:D
