I got a 2001 Toyota Celica Gt with 179kms and someone is offering me a trade for his 1991 MR2 with 174kms. This a good trade? What's your input?

Is the MR2 JDM? I say just keep your Celica. If youve had it for awhile at least youll know its reliable. Besides 2001>1991 is alot better IMO.

yet another thread for trade, keep your Celica. If you wana trade it for something at least look at around 2000+, not with 1990s JDM. Ask yourself a question, which car is more fun to drive and which one is reliable; then why would the other guy do the trade?

He have an mr2 turbo that is highly modified. He isgoing back to school at sait and cant afford to keep both that and the accord so is looking for a car to trade that is more practical til he gets out of school and can afford this again. the car got close to 9 grand in mods. It just had a leak down test and a compression test and is perfect. meaning no smoke, no leaks, boosting to a full 220 hp

Well judging from his other posts I would imagine he either beat the car to shit, or didn't maintain it at all..(But his idea of a rebuild may be new oil and spark plugs) A 1990 jdm car is not for you, you are kidding yourself. And personally I don't want to see you posting every day about something being broken, or being unable to find jdm washer fluid.

Dude, i swear 90% your posts are you trying to pedal your celica off to someone. If someone actually wants it i say get rid of it. You already have a civic as a DD

~sigh~ why am i not surprised you made this post... anyways the mr2 is mine and a lot of people can vouch for the car as being one of the better mr2s out there for sure. I don't even want to get rid of it only I am going back to school and cant afford both a daily driver and a mr2 so i have to do something. but whatever, lets make a public spectacle out of it...

lol its just the paint is so nice on it. worries me a bit because i know it will never be the same after one of our winters. I got a trd syncroed tranny and a trd clutch sitting around i just havnt bothered to put them in because the clutch isnt even slipping and the tranny isnt even that bad (i am just anal lol)

anyways turns out this guy still owes the bank money on the car and its really something i dont want to get involved with. best of luck Mike :dunno:

My MR2 was my winter car last year and it passed with ease with winter tires. Just put a good layer of wax and sealant on the paint in the fall and you will be fine.
