Those rims look wicked. The black is very nice. I personally like white cars - it seems like Lexus manufacture a lot of white IS

Hmmm...I need to change my Avatar.

another plus is I can fit both my guitar amp and guitars in the trunk. I couldn't do that with the 8.

well I only just got it tonight so the driving impressions will be thin.

Nice power. It is so nive to have torque again. The driving position is really nice with lots of adjustment. The way I sit you can't even see the hood.

I can feel the weight more in the corners but then again I am coming from the RX8 and that car you can throw into a corner at any speed and come out smelling like a rose.

The ride is firm but not rought.

I'll take it out this weekend for some proper testing and report back. Right now I'm just trying to get used to where everything is.

how did you bring yourself to pass up the ISF model?

i havent test driven either or looked closely at the numbers but i would have opted to go big.

You weren't kidding when you said you were going out cruising lol. Car looks pure business... we had it parked in the service bays on the side of the building where people drop off their cars to be serviced and quite a few people were asking our sales people about it.. what package etc. The rims and tint really set it off. Your title should also read no more Malibu.. thanks for the business Ron it was a lot of fun. The ISF isn't really a doable year round car without shelling out some serious money for new winter tires and wheels and it's thirsty on fuel compared to the 350.

If anyone is curious on pricing feel free to send me a pm. :)

Probably isn't quite as nimble as the RX8 but that may be offset by having useful torque and the Lexus meticulous attention to detalis.

Torque is always a good thing to have. It's much more useful in the city, as you can't always throw a car into corners here in Calgary... :)

Went from one of the most unreliable new cars to one of the most reliable new cars on the market :D

Im happy for you man, now you can leave the city and never have that "Whats going to go wrong next..." thought in your mind

I'll miss the high speed 4 wheel drifts but then again you can't keep doing that untill your number comes up. This new car has such a nice feel to it....but very different.

That is so true...especially since the RX8 didn't have a spare tire.

Welcome to the family, rotten42. You should consider getting a clear bra and roof spoiler. Black is great but it's a pain to maintain.

I don't know man my old RX-8 got like 400 km to a tank at absolute most... I know the IS350s can get around 550 no problem. I was looking into a 250 and 350 at one point but ended up going cheaper.

Lex350
08-03-2008, 03:07 PM
I was lucky to get 300kms out of a tank on my RX8. I was at 268km at 1/2 a tank on the IS

my IS350 gets around 350km to a tank and that's driving very conservatively

Lex350

I'm already @350km and I still have a quarter to go. If you go by the computer est. I should get 560km to this tank.

Yah that has to be miles, I get +400kms in the ISF. Once the car is past 10K kms you'll see the optimum gas mileage, should be about 500 - 600 depending on how and where you drive.

Remember the IS 350 requires premium.... kinda sux... so how many beyond members have an IS 350 or IS-F?

why the fuck would it take premium? AFAIK, it's not FI (Turbo,S/C)
so, you don't NEED premium unless you want the extra kick to it.

Whats with all these fanboys that seem to think their 'special' N/A cars REQUIRE premium? I see this mostly with 90's BMW owners..it's fuckin hilarious.

jadeboy
08-03-2008, 06:42 PM
You can put "regular" into the car (the car will detect and adjust) but you will get poor milage and it's not good for the engine in the long term if you keep doing it.

around 220 miles if you wanna convert it. I've hit 260 a few times but even the computer reads 240-260 normally on a full tank with 91 shell gas, i don't have a heavy foot either..too many stop lights

Lol, dude educate yourself with ignition timing vs stroke position. Add in heat and a weaker fuel.

Guess what? Detonation.

Explosion happens before the piston reaches the top of the stroke. All the compressive force is put on the piston, the piston pin, the rod and the bearings.

I have driven the IS250 and IS-F, you will love your 350. It is quite different than what you're used to but it should be a better car than an 8 in most situations.
