hello guys, well i just got my class5 license and now i'm about to buy a car, it is used. but i don't know what to do last, what to do first. right now im just wondering, do i have to get the insurance and then go pick up a car? it is 1992 car, does it need an inspection? how much is the registration cost? how long will it take to get a plate?

thank you:)

insurance first.
probably needs inspection, ask insurance company.
registration is about $60.
plate is instant once you bring insurance and proof of ownership at the registry.

what if the car that i'm buying wasn't sitting around, it was a previous owner daily driving, Is it still need an inspection?

by the way thanks for the advise!!:)

im not sure if it's all insurance companies or some, but i went into mine the other day and they had a sign that said 12 years or older must have an inspection.

if it is a provincial, it is aroung $200 depending on where you go and something from the registry to get it iirc for about $20

Go to State Farm, it wouldn't need inspection. I've had about 3 cars insured through them in past year and they never asked for inspection; all of them were about 15yrs old...

If the insurance companies want, they can demand and inspection at 12years. With that said, the majority go with 15.

Like the poster above said, State Farm does not require inspections.
