Looking for a mac laptop for the g/f as hers just crapped out, and she's painted her self into a corner at work by creating projects that can only be done with Mac software. Might also consider a desktop...

Looking for something with at least 1 gb of ram, and 1.0GHZ.

Thanks!

Why not build your own?

I bought an Acer Extensa at BB for $350 and it runs Leopard great. Much faster than my old 1.67GHz PowerBook.

The only thing I had to fiddle with was adding the PCI ID of the wifi card into a KEXT.

That is as hard as copying a sentence in a word doc and pasting into the same doc.

The Dell in this forum for $350 would run OSX 10.5 perfectly.

Some folks asked for help getting OSX working on their rigs. Everything you need is here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

^^^ well right now, as long as your a student, you can get a good deal on macbook's and iMAC in futureshop and bestbuy. They give you a free printer, airport express and iwork for free on top of the regular priced items.

I just got one 2 days ago and I must say, I love the iMAC.

As long as you don't look too old, in the 3 futureshop's that I've been to, they didn't even check my student ID so in theory you can get the student discount without being a student. Just thought I'd share some info with you.

You can also purchase refurbished ones in the apple website, they are cheaper and are a good deal as well.

Lotsa options for you to decide.
