We have spiders similar to that on all 3 of our decks and we have been having less bugs of most kinds outside. They do their job well.

If it's a cat spider the only super powers you'll get are the ability to throw up hairballs on the rug and scratch the shit out of the couch.

Haha, not really fangs. They're pedipalps.
I used to play with those spiders when I was a kid...They were all over the porch on the piece of shit mobile home I grew up in. HAHA
You must have been my neighbour!
Seriously though, we called them Barn Spiders or some people called them 'popcorn spiders' because they look like a popped kernel or corn.
totally harmless and tough bastards too.
I brought on in for show and tell in a little jar with two holes in the top in grade 4. It was the start of the school year so it was September when i brought it in.
We cleaned out the classroom in june the next year the last week of class, found the spider in the jar and it was still alive!

It's a Garden Orb-Weaver. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araneidae)
Not sure on the exact type.

They are a pretty good size. I started a spider thread a couple years ago and had one of those spiders wandering around too.

This was a shot of another guy who must have been an inch tall, he was pretty gross

Gee and some people call them wolf spiders ... Imagine if they are both correct and cat and wolf powers were to be found together.
...:drama:
Since wolves are part of the dog family and cats are chased by dogs ...
Dude! Get Bit! You would be so funny to watch! Catch yourself on YouTube for us eh!??

It's true, just recently my little cousin trapped one that looked like this, he kept the thing in a jar for the past 2.5 weeks(children and their curiosity, i used to have worms and dirt in a jar, then put a ton of ants in to see what happens) and it just died on friday i think, 2.5 weeks with no food. :nut:
