FS one is an 8 meg buffer too and waiting for the mail in rebate isn't a big deal.. cuz its 133 before the mib.

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but Maxtor/seagate does NOT make an IDE or SATA hard drive with a 4mb buffer. It is most likely a 2mb buffer at that price.

Good luck with the sale, it looks like a good deal (the drive carries a 1 year manufacturer's warranty from date it was manufactured)

(edit) forgot to mention seagate

western digitals are also noisy as hell, and lately they dropped their warrante from 3 years to 1 year... along with the number of returns going up, its no wonder their prices are dropping.

maxtor or seagate own WD.

mine is a maxtor 7200rpm 80 gb, and yeah i apologize, it's a 2mb buffer.

i needed S-ATA , but obviously this one isnt , it's just regular ATA-133 on ide

what shop charges 25% restocking fee? I really hate shops like that.

I know of only 1 place, it's QDI Distribution. It's not a refund, its an IN STORE CREDIT less the 25% restocking fee. It's in effect as soon as you give them the money.
