The outcome is no surprise but the 135i's a pretty capable little Bimmer and not far behind the M3.

Well the EVO has no peer performance-wise in its price range but if you are comparing livability it's not really a surprise that the 135i may be preferable to some but not all....

"Perhaps a bit of an overstatement because a few staffers preferred the Evo. Says Mortara, "I'll give up a better interior for a car that to me performs better, looks better, and has a distinct personality-the Evo MR.""

Such a Mitsubishi fanboy

I swear it looks like you spend your days searching for info that makes those cars look good.

They make decent products and the evo is a great plateform but let's look at things in a fair way here.

The evo is a 4 door sedan whereas the 135i is a much smaller 2 door coupe. The only thing that brings them closer together is the price range because the evo is the top of the line econobox and the 135i is the entry level luxury car...

Looks better?

The EVO ain't winning any beauty contests IMO. The only car it would beat in the looks department is the STi.

And the 135 is?

the 135i looks like it got hit by the short bus.

It's just not long enough for it's styling and lines, the STI is just well... very bad.

Not a hard win for the EVO in the looks dept.

No matter how fast it shifts or how good it is I do not like that SST transmission, it just doesn't feel right.

The 135i doesn't look terrible as it has a bulldog look to it IMO. EVO looks more aggressive IMO.

Well certainly not when it's parked next to a 3-series coupe.

I think the 135i looks pretty good. But of all the ones I have seen on the road, its always a chick driving. :dunno:

Unfortunately, regardless of performance numbers, the 135 is the new 318TI. That sucks, but it's a fact.
