I just spend 4,000 shipping parts from the Us. Ridiculars. 2,500$ in parts, 1,500 in shipping, duties and taxes. Fuck canada.

your definition of a good car might require a long time of saving if one only starts with 4gs...

beyond (fake) ballers ftw:rofl:

i would buy a beat up mid nineties nissan pathfinder or toyota 4runner, with over 200,000 km's

just find one that has had the t-belt and water pump done and that the owner has maintained.

my last one ran great until it had 350,000 km's and i still sold it for $3300 and my current winter beater has only 200,000 k's and is running mint. Mileage is not the best but it hauls ass through any amount of snow, gets me to the mountains, lots a room for hauling summer car parts, and the final but most important thing about a cheap reliable car- when some douche parks to close its not me who is worried about door dings, and rock chips/scratches/dings- who the fuck cares

its liberating driving the beater.

In your situation, I would pick up this corolla for $900, use some of the remaining $$ for insurance, and save the rest for potential repairs down the road.

I had an '88 celica when I was in university. Most reliable car I have ever owned. I'm sure this corolla would be no different.

edit: nevermind. I see you're in Quebec.

If I had $4000 to buy a car, it'd be a motorcycle.

I would buy 4, 1000$ cars.. Then you get to tell people you own 4 cars, and can compete on here with the kids who list all of their family members cars in their profile..

.. Nah I'd actually buy 1, $1000~ car and keep the rest saved. I've owned several "junkers" that ran wicked and later a long ass time. My cousin is king at it, he has a 6fig job, but still buys cars for like 400 bux, puts a couple hundred into them and then off loads them for like 2grand.. I have no idea where he finds so many cheap cars, but he has been doing this for the last 10 yrs or more, and had great luck.

I'd buy this oldschool Euro Capri :

Turbo V6, 4spd and enough money left over for a vanity plate that reads "MAD-MAX" ;)

I'd probably get another G2 Integra, really its all I need in a vehicle : good on gas, can fit 3 snowboards or 2 mtn bikes in the hatch, reliable/cheap to maintain, decent handling, and faster than most minivans.
