ANYWAY, I sat in a red one in Edmonton that happened to be at a body shop already. The owner of the body shop said they had two in already both for spider-webbing on the bumpers from damage apparently while shipping. And he said the dealer told him it was a common problem on these although none of them were that bad and if it was just an Altima or something they wouldn't fix it because most people wouldn't notice.

Now on one side I am glad they are fixing them without waiting to see if the owner notices, but on the other hand I would be kind of pissed if my brand new 80k+ car already had to have a bumper repainted.

Ahead of its time? Are you retarded, blind or both (ie. a religious fanboy)? The closest Nissan ever came to making a good looking Skyline was the R33. Aside from that, they have all been EXTREMELY ugly.. the R35 is no exception. It might actually be the worst of all them.

And hasn't anyone else noticed the serious decline in the GTR's performance numbers lately? Every version they gave to the press was hot rodded - the latest numbers I've seen from most magazines peg the car as performing exactly as it should be, instead of freakishly fast for its weight and power.

edit: Just looked at Car & Driver's latest test, the comparo against the M3, to double check. They could only manage a 12.1 (down from 11.5), 9mph slower than in their first test.. acceleration times were 10% slower, and the transmission was making all kinds of noise with 4,000 miles on it. So now we know how Nissan is selling it so cheap... cutting lots and lots of corners :rofl:

It's never been about looks with the Skyline. The R34 was the only generation that looked better than average and the GTR follows suit as it looks okay but compared to exotic cars and even the Corvette it looks pedestrian. It just doesn't have any sexy curves. The front end looks part 350Z and part Audi and the rear end would be better descirbed as a caboose as it's huge.

We all know that the GTR is an extremely capable machine that rivals exotic cars twice it's price or more don't paint it as a thing of beauty because it isn't.

Yes I've noticed that the 0-60 times that initially were 3.4 seconds are now as slow as 4.2 seconds (which isn't slow by any means). Still for the money the performance is very impressive and it's probably one of the few cars in that performance range that could be used as a daily driver. Plus Nissan may have detuned manufactured cars slightly to err in the side of caution on a newly designed engine (even if it is based on the VQ).

That's a great looking car, the only thing is that it isn't a stock one. Lowered, rims, body kit, etc. Stock they sit like they're 4x4ing, have smallish rims, and the body is very bland.

But you already knew that, which is why you posted a modded Skyline and not a stock one... ;)

It's good bang for the buck no matter what, but it still pisses me off Nissan can get away with that, although they do build them all a little different so who knows.
