Are you trying the $50 paint job? If so, the product you're looking for is called Tremclad in Canada and was used in the original $50 paint job.

I believe people have moved on to start using Brightside Marine Paint, I think I remember correctly. That paint has more shine than Tremclad/Rustoleum. There's a 200+ page thread on Honda-Tech about this if you want more info.

the tremclad job takes a lot of time and attempts to get it right but it does work if you have the patience.

Haha, I remember when the Mopar thread began mentioning the Marine Brightside paint... I didn't know it became popular! I also didn't know where to get it easily so I just stuck with Tremclad.

Personally having gone through it I wouldn't recommend the roller job, it can be a MAJOR pain in the ass. I don't know if my story was common but in the end materials came up more than $50 (due to retries and everything) not to mention the time. As Cooked Rice says it can take a lot of tries to even begin to get it right.

Even then I found Tremclad wasn't nearly deep/shiny enough, so I decided to throw on some 2-part urethane clearcoat (using a brush because the roller melted...) and you could see all the brush strokes...

I ended up doing it over with some quasi-spraygun-spraycan-pearl job on my car which turned out kind of funny. But still better than my roller/brush attempt.

Oh, one of the things I wanted to get across was, there is a chance you'll want clearcoat in the end, so you may want to plan for it!

I agree that it takes lots of time, but if you dun mind just rolling on a coat every night for a week or two then it should be ok. I would only do this on a beater, it's basically a one stage paint job so you don't get any depth in the paint. You can get it to shine with more time and wet sanding/polishing.
