Very nice car. I would like a nice VIP set up GS400. Although I have developed a problem. I can't look at it without thinking of an Impala. Pisses me off. :nut:

Fantastic cars, Turbine smooth with exceptional performace (it was the fastest poducation sedan in North America the year it came out, later overshadowed by the C43, and M5 of course)

Very reliable, I would buy one in a second. They also hold their value very well.

A good buy overall if you ask me.

I hv owned one few yrs ago, for app. 1 yr .. and I liked it!

I think they are (were) the best design lexus ...

Good power .. ~ 5.8 sec 0-60mpg .. quite reliable ..

But dont expect it is a sport car, or fun to drive ... :)

I would like to keep it .. but my wife didnt' like it .. it is too "lumb" and too soft ..

However, I dont see any reason to buy one from US ..

I sold mine ( 1999, with 85,000 km, loaded, 17" sport wheel, Silver ) 3 yr ago, when it was perfect, needed nothing .. and local car, second owner .. I got $22 K for it .. ( which I was lucky )

So, I guess they are in the $15K range now for a good one now .. even u found one in US for $10KUS .. after exchange rate ( 1.09 today to buy ) and duty, shipping, all the fee ... it still cost you $15K anyway .. you better buy it local then.

There should be lots of them for sell... :)

its most likely the fact that they are so hard to find here in canada. and they are dirt cheap in the US.

I've driven the GS300/400/430. The GS400 is not nearly as much of a "Sports" sedan as say, a BMW 5 series, but it does what its intended to do very well. I found it to be almost too refined, and a disconnected driving experience - some people love that though. It is also too quiet for my liking (I like to hear the motor if I want too). Typical lexus reliability, luxury, and decent performance but is not as fun as much of its competition. I don't know what your criteria is but I'd also try out a 2000-2003 or so BMW 5 series automatic just so you can see how they compare, if you haven't already. Price range should be similar.
