Is there a lens shade for the regular 55mm lens that comes standard with the Rebel XTI SLR?

IMO you should almost always use a lens shade as it helps protect the lens as well as helps keep the sunlight off of the glass which can cause flare or a decrease in contrast.

Also for night photography it helps keep dew off the lense. And it looks cool too.

I placed an order for the EW-83J almost 2 months ago, and it's still on backorder everywhere. Come on Canon! :banghead:

What's the deal with Canon?? Can't they include hoods?? Especially when you pay an arm for some, you still have to buy the hood separately?

^ Im pretty sure it is just with the kit lense that they dont provide the hood. I could be totally wrong but all my aftermarket canon lenses came with a hood.:dunno:

No hood comes with the 17-55 f2.8 at $1,200. :banghead:

I believe "L" lenses are the only ones that come with a hood
