anyone ever dealt with a junk/damaged car lot before? i need some parts for a 02 civic and i really dont want to pay retail if i can avoid it, paying 3000 to get two new bumpers installed/painted really doesnt appeal to me

I went to one in the south. Walked in, paid $1 to enter, brought some tools to remove a side mirror, brought to front, paid $14 and left.

edit: called payless, and they said they only stocked new parts, possibly the other location?

a-1 auto has my bumpers in stock, gold unfortunately so id have to paint the damn things... but it seems like my best bet for 250 a piece =/

I can never find parts for my car from the yards...
have to go to sites such as car-parts.com to find the yards that actuality do the parts stripping to find "deals" on used parts

How much is the new bumper painted? 300$ sounds like a lot for a used one.

400 for a stock unpainted bumper, a hundred or two for installation, then i think they quoted me at 5 or 6 for the paint, it seemed ridiculous when i heard it, so i shopped around looking for something cheaper and it all came up about the same.

edit: installing a bumper cant be that difficult can it?

Maybe just post it up on honda forums or just in teh marketplace. I found front and rear bumpers here for $20 each for an 04+ civic around 2 years ago. I never bought them cuz they didnt fit in my car, but I bought a pair of fenders for $40 just as spares because it was so damn cheap. If you ever wanna do the facelift for the Civic I can sell ya the fender lol.
