Looking into one or the other, trying to do some searches to weigh the differences but can't really find anything.

Some people say it costs about 1/3 to rebuild and engine compared to buying a new one other people say it's better to just buy a new engine

??

It all depends on whats wrong with yours, or what you are getting to replace it. You could end up with another bunk engine not long down the road.. Or if your engine was beat bad, it may not be worth it.. But then again, depending on how deep you dig on the rebuild, it could be good as new again.

to replace it i would either go c1 or c5

or i would have a full rebuild done

Ive had two motors done at random Firebolt Engine installers here in Calgary. Both got warranties and I even get the timing belt done woot. Costly tho $4-5k for each. Have to say tho Ive never had a problem with either and they run clean. Given I am always on time for an oil change. XD
