According to SCC...

"Power comes from the same 215-hp, 3.2-liter, SOHC, 18-valve V6 that's used in the SLK230, with the same six-speed manual or five-speed auto transmissions behind it feeding the same 3.27:1 final drive gear set."

Also 60 pounds lighter than the SLK230, at 3060 lbs.

Besides the parts bin dipping for the SL/SLR gills on the side, they have done a great job with the design of the car and the tried and trued 3.2 is a good engine.....nicely done.

The motor was never engineered as a performance motor... it was designed as a torquey low revving motor (6000rpm redline) with very good emissions (3 valve design). Cost savings also made it very versitile, it sees duty in tons of cars... C320, CL320, SLK320, CLK320, E320, ML320, and now, the Crossfire.

The Crossfire would be cool with the AMG engine... it's already stolen the SLK 32's AMG seats hehe.
