if someone wants it I'll sell it but otherwise I'll keep it. The bar is set high.
I had an 09 6 speed on order.

500 edition is for canada only btw.

not a daily no. I have an SUV since I work oilfield. I was told I could not get an 08 (they were out before my spot in line) so I had an 09 6 speed oredered last month instead. Low and behold this came up for sticker.

If someone will give me a profit for it why would I not take it. I would end up with the 09 I thought I would anyways.

Either way if I'm around garrison green and you see me just honk or wave I'll take you for a spin.

Nice, finally saw one in person yesterday and it looks better than the pictures imo. Nicest new car out there right now but my dream car when I was a kid was always a 70 challenger or cuda so I'm kind of partial.

Yes they can, at least one dealer has a US imported Challenger that I know of.

There are more than a few american Challengers here. There are a few cosmetic differences and the whole warranty issue.

Now that is quick

benyl

Why is that quick?

This car is the same platform as all of the other SRT8 cars. Same motor.

300C SRT8 has been out for years and years.

business manager for a pipeline / facility company.

regarding importing, I believer our shuckster friends at carmax have 2 american ones.

I saw a dealer used auction screenshot for challengers awhile back and they seemed to be going for between 45 and 50 there. I know you can find cars for the low 40s US. I know, or at least I recall chrysler US does not honor warranty and specifically should not sell to canadians. that may have changed.

If I do it again, I`d likely order one with just the 6 speed package ($2K).

the stock stereo is fine, I am not a nav man, I am not a sunroof man.. so I`d avoid the $1k+ for sunroof, 1500 or whatever for nav, 1500 or whatever for the kicker stereo - rather than looking to import a new one from the US (especially in light of the dollar sliding back a bit.

Either way, guys when are the beyond meets.. I can slip it by here one of these weeks presuming it stays..

the guys at the maserati dealership down the road where ripping in a orange one up and down meridian rd the other day, not that fast if you ask me, sounded like it weighed a ton.

you have to have the 6 speed, the auto has very long gears.

Interesting. So if I close my eyes and listen to a car go by what would I look for as indication of how heavy it was?

Nice car, love the colour combo, my first choice if I had one.
I wanted to wait for a Challenger when I bought my Charger, but my lease was coming up quick and I saved a ton over MSRP so I'll wait until the 09's are sitting on the lot before trading it in.

i didnt only listen to it, i watched it take off from a standing start.

how do those guys on PASS TIME figure out quarter mile times on car with out even seeing them race. you dont have to be a genius to figure it out.

and i didnt say how heavy it was, i said buy the sound of the car at WOT it didnt really get up and go.

Pretty fair, I've not gone buckwild obviously but to me it belies its weight. It is a little softer sprung but still, no real complaints. Obviously the steering is not razor sharp, but let's not kid ourselves, I don't spend alot of times in the cones

they are totally slow, much like the rest of the srt8 clan. But in reality, we all don't drive spaceships. Besides, it is all I could afford. I'm saving for a Ford pinto with a 460 - with 4:88 gears.

Funny either way the car is pretty quiet in stock trim. If it stays I'll get magnaflow header back exhaust.

I can when I get a chance dude. It is in calgary (jcx's garage) and I'm home in Innisfail.

They are doing all sorts of construction around my place this week and my garage is not built yet.

The pavers actually hit a mustang 5.0 with a packer right up the street from me, so I got the car the hell out of dodge (pardon the pun).

There are gravel trucks, water trucks, graders, bobcats and no doubt soon to be paving machines all over the place and I don't trust these rehabs as far as I can throw the challenger - and the bitch is heavy.

If I indeed keep it it will be at the track at some point, but until I commit to sell or keep, I won't be bagging on it. I would not do that to someone.

I asked if you guys have regular beyond meets so I could bring it by in a week or 2... do you guys?

It will be more for just a fun and comfortable cruiser I think with sporadic racing. I wanted another muscle car, but old cars are finicky, not well built, noisy - albeit very charming. This gives me the best of both worlds - I'm not a tinkerer or ambitious enough to have an old project so I 'll take the new retro for now.

There's a black SRT8 challenger that I parked next to :D in a downtown parking lot.

In all honesty, I would get a brand new one if it wasn't for shitty resale value.

My dad's intrepid R/T is worth 1/9th of what we bought it brand new for in 2002 feb. I sold my 99 civic for twice as much as what I can sell the intrepid for haha.

These Challengers do look awesome though! Just hope they don't become as common as the Mustang... because that kinda takes the fun out of it IMO
