nothing is ever really deleted, the space is just marked as re-usable... so assuming you haven't used your machine toooo much since then, software like WinUndelete (just google for "undelete") should be able to recover it. G'luck.

don't listen to znx, he has no clue what he is talking about.

I recover deleted photos for customers of mine all the time.

There are many programs available online for data recovery, one of my favorites is R-Studio.

http://www.data-recovery-software.net/

I have been very successful multiple times using this software.

Unfortunately you will need to purchase it, it really depends on how much your pictures are worth to you.

Your best bet is to use a recovery program right away, you will have a higher chance of recovery as the more you use your computer and write and delete fromt he hard drive the less likely your chances of getting the pictures back are.

Think of your hard drive(computer component that houses all your data) as a piece of paper. When you write something on that piece of paper you can see it, edit it, or erase it. Once you erase it you can still see a faint image of what was once there(deleting files from your recycle bin). The more you write on that piece of paper and erase from it the less likely you will be able to see what was originally their. A hard drive works the same way.

Good luck, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself take your computer to a trusted repair center and have them recover your data for you. It can be done but like I said the sooner you do it the better chances you have.

^ yeah

if it is VERY important to you, turn off the machine and boot a recovery tools live CD, or take the drive to someone who can do this for you... any decent geek should be able to, or use professional services that will charge a lot like $1000's...

Better idea.

Check out this program called "Recuva".

As long as the data on the hard drive/memory device has not been written over; the data is recoverable.

So if you have not defragged the hard drive after you emptied the recycle bin and/or written new data to the drive. The data should be there for the application to recover for you.

Link to download can be found here:

Depends how it stops... not detected? makes funny noises? there's lots of threads on this already... put in in a ziploc and toss it in the freezer for a few hours, you might get an hour or so to recover your stuff... have a machine and some drive space ready.
