Spotted:body extraction

Got a few pics of the person that got shot in the beltline today. I decided to go for a walk with my camera, and got there just as they were pulling buddy out. You can't really see much, they had a lot of the area taped off, and tarps up everywhere, but you can make out the stretcher they put him on just below the passenger door.
Pretty fuckin' sad that I can walk from my place to the scene of a fatal shooting in 15 minutes.

I was driving by the same thing when they were extracting the body, this is only the 4th time ive been downtown and ive lived here all my life... what are the chances of seeing that.

I read about it on the web except they are calling it a "Drive By Shooting". Didn't the dude with the gun walk up to the car and shoot the guy inside? How is that a drive by? More like a "Walk by and then run like hell" shooting. :D

On Monday, August 18, 2008, at approximately 11:30 a.m.,
Calgary Police Service members responded to reports of shots
being fired near an alley located between 12 and 13 Avenue
and 11 Street S.W.

Upon arrival, police located a black Pontiac that had hit a
fence, a short distance from the alley. An unresponsive, lone
male occupant was in the vehicle. EMS personnel attempted to
provide medical attention, but the victim was declared
deceased at the scene.

Witnesses at the scene indicated they heard at least two
shots being fired. A man was seen running from the scene.
This individual is described as having a dark skin-tone, in
his early to mid-20s, wearing a hooded jacket. There is some
vague information concerning a second individual of interest
that is being investigated.

An autopsy has been concluded and the victim has been
identified as Efrem Mehari KUFLOM, 30, of Calgary.

The victim died as a result of the shooting. This is
Calgary’s 23rd homicide of 2008.

This was likely not a random incident. The preliminary
investigation indicates the shooting may be drug-related,
however the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call
police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS
(8477).

This is was revenge from the shooting of Roland Chin a few weeks back. The killers were brought in from Vancouver to get revenge for the death of Roland.
