I do believe the place in deerfoot changed hands a few years back, there was a very noticeable change. I do think it's still decent fish and chips though.

Yup, "British Fish & Chips" @ Deerfoot is still awesome.

Still HUGE pieces of fish...like 3 piece & fries combo for like $8.

Can't go wrong....

maybe they changed something around but I was there last year and still saw the ladies after this many years. As long as it's still good.. that's all that matters. Plus you can go bowling across the food court. schwing!

british fish n chips - yuk!!! every time I've tried it. It doesn't matter if you get big portions of oil soaked dripping batter and translucent fries, it's just that. Only old people seem to eat there (trying to get to the grave faster).
pelican pier - yes
joeys only, the one on center&40 or 50th - closed now
joeys only, coventry hills is ok, haven't liked the london town square one though.
haven't tried boyds

I tried British fish n chips recently after reading recommendations and still much prefer Joey's.

Can't get any more greasy than British + the halibut was pretty tough :thumbsdow.

Might have to try Pelican.

I can't believe British Fish and Chips are getting horrid reviews. I haven't had it in about a year, but have never had them greasy or with bad fries. And I was right this place changed hand about 7 years ago. It had been run by a British couple.

Joey's on the other hand I will never ever eat again. They seem to use cheap cuts of halibut. Never a bad experience from chowder at Boyds and won't go back.

Catch is good just overpriced, and they had the best lobster and chips, but I am not sure it's on the menu anymore.

And just once I would like good mushy peas.

I agree. I'm a bit biased but Moxie's also has good ones as well. I'm very picky with fish and chips being from the Atlantic Coast. But Pelican Pier is amazing not only for the Fish and Chips but for the seafood chowder.

I saw this place and was thinking of trying it out soon...
Is it a fancier sit down place or more like fast food?
