Description : Just turned 40k miles, all stock, still on original clutch (key indicator of how it’s driven), Weightless White, all options for year including larger spoiler and sunroof, waxed too many times to count, no mods except for K&N drop in filter/rally armour flaps. Full synthetics, recently serviced, no accidents, never raced, launched, rallied, etc….stored winters in garage under car cover (included), spare set of new Enkei factory rims included. Been in Canada for four years already, registered in Calgary, AB. (one of the original elusive 15 VIII's).

I know that several snuck through, and that they are now legal. I was always under the impression that they were improperly registered as Lancers.

They didn't sneak through as much as RIV seemed to have made a mistake. So they were legally registered in every aspect and can be treated as a Canadian vehicle.

Yeah .. hv seen quite a few of them around .. somehow .. they are legal in Canada ..


Um .. any chance, all the sudden ... rule changes, and can't reg it ?? :dunno:

Can people still import them ( those yr ) from US?

Mine is an 03, which were all 5 speeds (not the fragile 6 speed).
Up until two months ago, there were only 15 of them in the country.....now, who knows what the # is but they are still very rare....i suspect you spotted the many ralliarts that are running EVO wings...

RIV will NOT and cannot remove the car after they have approved it.....that stands for all other EVO's as well.....only "car" i've heard get punted out of the country was the Longview limo.....Rule change means they are ALL legal......and yes, 40000 miles....
