so i bought an hid kit online and installed it today. I installed the left side first, everything worked perfect.

then came the right side...nothing worked. the ballest dident make a sound and the light dident go on. so i put the ballest on the other side to test it, it worked so i thought it was the bulb forsure. then i tested out the bulb by putting it on the other side and it worked to. so i then realized it was the light plug from the car itself. but then i tried putting the old non hid light in and it worked fine. :dunno:

i have no clue whats wrong with this thing and any help is appreciated

I'm going to bet that you have a poor ground on one side, and it is preventing the ballast from getting the proper voltage required to ignite the bulb.

your harness should have grounding connections on it. connect those to any exposed metal in your engine bay and consider it grounded. if you still dont have any luck try connecting it in an area where there is no paint.

are you sure you plugged in the connectors on the HID harness to your car light properly?

try to switch the connections also

5 bucks says a ground... Take the black wire, and make sure it's connected 100%

but theres no ground wire coming off the kit, and theres two black wires per light and both dont look like there meant to be grounds

damaged connector, check pins arent being pushed in, and are properly aligned.
THEN
try cutting a small strip off the power and ground.
Jump the ground to your battery ground, to test, then to a known good chassis ground for a long term solution.
If thats not it jump the Power to your battery.
if thats not it, call a professional ;)

Are you using a wiring harness? I hope so.

Check the harness with a volt meter to see if the power is going through and the ground is actually connected on both ends.

Some kits don't come with a wiring harness. They only come with connectors.

Are the HIDs being powered directly from the battery through a relay?

umm do you just turn on the power to the car or do u actually start it up, flash highbeams as well. My buddies subaru, has that DRL plug in so most of the time only the left side would work.

its actually the HID basset was backwords...ive bought HIDs off ebay a few times and everytime ive had to reverse the wires. ( positive to neg and neg to positive) no custom work needed just push the plugs into the other one...its not a perfect match seeing how both are differant but they do stay together...so thats what ive ran into...but good on brendan for helping you out!
