MCS Credit Card Services - Telemarketing Calls

ahhhhhhhh!


This is so annoying. I come home from being gone for 2 months and I have 15 messages from a pre recorded message left by these bozos.


There are two messages:

1.) "This is our third attempt at contacting you. Our records indicate you could be eligible for lowering your credit card interest rates" etc.. etc..

2.) Something similar but doesn't say the company name.



So I've never actually been home to tell these jerk offs to stop calling me.

And most of the time the call comes from this number:

123-456-7891

Today it came from a 517 number, but when I looked at my call display after the call it shows "Unavailable" and "anonymous"


So today they called 2 times. The first time I pressed 1 to talk to someone. I was immediately transfered to some guy, I asked him "who am I speaking to?" and he immediately hung up the phone.


Later on I got another call from the same guys so I pressed 1, immediately i was transfered to some lady. This time I played along.
"hi sir, our recirds indicate you may be able to reduce your credit card interest rate"
"OK sounds great"
"We need to first ask you some questions"
"Ok shoot"
"How much credit card debt do you currently carry?"
"Zero"
"We can only offer this to you if you have more than 5000 dollars of debt <click>"
"hello?...."

Has anyone else been harassed by these people? is this a scam? How do I get off their phone list?

i hate phone calls like this, i never get them at home but they're a daily occurrence at work.

I also hate the, "this is your captain calling *horn blow".

I spoke with a lovely agent named Paulie based in Florida who's extension is 500. Apparently their head offices are located in Wichita.

Full company name is Mutual Consolodated Services and apparently they have a 'sister' company in Canada called Canadian Debt Settlement. Don't really know how the scam works and don't care, but these guys are snakes.

If you talk to a person, tell them to put you on their do not call list. Record the date and time. If it happens again, file a complaint with the CRTC = ownage.
