So I had a bottle of oil in my trunk which somehow had a loose lid over time.

It soaked the floor carpet and went through into the wood board underneath. Just wondering the best way to try to clean all of this up ?

I've already put some cat litter and sawdust to try to soak as much up.

Any further idea's? The carpet itself is basically saturated all of the way through but only half of the carpet is stained.

(It's all out of the car at this point)

Oil can be tricky, as the saturated wood might still "bleed" through once you clean the carpet. If you are able to put something between the wood and the carpet, that might be best to keep this from happening.

There is some gel solvent I have - forget the name. But it's meant to remove oil and tar from somewhat "delicate" surfaces. It has that really strong orange citrus smell, and it worked wonders for removing tar from a carpet before for me. I'm sure there are many similar products out there....

If it comes down to it, I can just go buy some more plywood and cutout the shape of my previous.

It's more the carpet I'm concerned about.

Use coke as in coca-cola to clean up the oil, then use the shamwow to remove coke. You'll be saying wow everytime.
