Will the ram work in my older 1ghz G4 iBook?

Interested in the 2GB DDR667 sodimms but not sure if its compatible with whats in my laptop...this is what the specs of my computer online say...



Motherboard Bus Speed 667 MHz
Memory 2048 MB DDR2 SDRAM (2 Dimm)


And what brand is it?

dj_rice: It should work. The RAM is Kingston. Receipt included for warranty pruposes. Let me know the brand & model number and I can tell you if it will take a max of 3 or 4 GB.

Sorry, that will take DDR or SD RAM depending on how old it is.

HP DV6662SE and website says max of 4GB, but will these work in unison with the 2GB already in my laptop?

Your notebook has two slots, each filled with 1 GB.

You can upgrade one slot and have 3 GB or both and have 4 GB. That will leave you with one or two 1 GB sticks.

If you give me one of those sticks I'll take $10 off the price.

4 GB is only useful if you have a 64 bit OS. A 32 bit OS only addresses about 3-3.25 GB.

It was DDR2 667 otherwise known as PC2-5300. But its gone now.
