Just passing along an add I came across.. Good price for a classic Honda in decent shape.

$200, 220,000 kms and they think the headgasket might be going. Car still runs and drives well apparently... located in Banff.

Honestly I would buy this if I didn't have a tonne of cars already haha.. A beyond member should pick this thing up though, I'd love to see one of these restored and swapped.

I wish I had the space! I had a 1981 Civic Hatchback 4 door (not the wagon). It was wicked fun. I think its got the EN1 motor.

why do people like making sleepers?

y not just have a fast car looking great? even if u dont drive a nice car, drive a decent safe looking thing. Atleast girls wont feel embarassed sitting in it

throwing a new engine and other shit in this thing, is a waste of time and cash....

Those are the best cars to buy/ fix / sell and make a killing.. My cousin buys probably a dozen cars a yr like that, few hundred bux, turn around and sell em for 2 grand.

It's not even the sleeper aspect. Sure some people would like to hack the car up and turn it into a monstrosity, but a car like this has a certain nostalgia. Its the same reason people on here buy the Honda Dream motorcycles (even replica's).. those things are not fast, safe or great looking by current standards.

To each his own. right?
There's something to be said for sleepers... Its a lot of fun pulling up to some smug young douchenugget who had mommy + daddy buy him a fast car and being able to smoke him in something that looks stock and boring, and has no business going fast. That really has a way of wiping the smile offa them.

Plus, built > bought.
In my opinion, anyway.

I dunno.. you must really really really love Civics to care for this. My sister had one of these. I drove it around. I hated it, especially trying to get the fucking thing started. The manual choke was such as a pain in the ass. No power steering. Sofaking slow. And of course the 3 spd Hondamatic haha.

You had to use the choke on yours? Mine ran so rich it would diesel! Well... the worn rings didn't help. Drop the clutch and hold the brake to shut off.

It was fun, when ever I went around a corner too fast, the bungie that held the battery in would snap, and the battery would fall out. It had no floors, the passenger door was concave, the hatch had golf ball sized holes, and it was missing a few windows. But the 4 speed stick was sooooo smooth.

I think I saw one of these at Glenmore Landing today, same colour, except it had rims and what looked like Altezza's glued on to the back of the car.

Really? You are going to smoke a modern douchenugget car with a bucket of bolts civic being pulled by a B16?

Give your head a shake, kay?

I politely suggest that before you start making rude comments, you read the post in question a bit more carefully...

I didn't say anything about using a B16. My comment wasn't even directly about the civic in question. I merely made an argument for why some people like sleepers in response to someone else's comment.
