Attention to detail is what I like about Honda. For instance the Frame Number access panel. Even the way parts are packaged in boxes, ie. quarter panels and headliners. Looks like Honda put more engineering into the box then the actual panel itself ;) 09 Fit  I love working dem Hondas.

Will the CDN 09 Fit have the optional Navi system? Or is that only a US option?

All I wanna know is: Did Honda pussy out and start building these in North America yet?

The North American-built Hondas all seem to have an excessive amount of recalls and bulletins -vs- the Japanese-built vehicles.

I blame the unions...

I love the looks and versatility of this car but I don't see this car suceeding when the MSRP for a Fit and Civic (DX trim) are within the same price bracket. How can anyone justify buying this when the civic offers more room and power. Fuel consumption is better for the Fit but the difference is practically negligible.

fit has more space fyi as well as the gas milage is significant
also u cant compare highest model fit to lowest model civic for pricing.

new fit is still built in japan

Fit has more cargo space but passenger space Civic has the edge, again that is a personal preference on what they're looking for. And gas mileage is NOT significant as the difference across all trims (excluding Si) is less than 0.4L/100km, considering the Civic weighs approximately 100kg's more.

edit: Is there a moonroof option for the new Fit?

No Navi or VSA for Canadian model according to the press release. But they do get it in the US. No sunroof can be had in North America. Although the sky roof that JDM gets would be a really cool option.

It's about the same price as before.

Basically we pay about $2-4000 more for a equivalent model in the US which knowing hot well Fit will sell, I can see why Honda won't back down much on price.

Most reviews has been positive. If you drive highway a lot, they do recommend that auto as the manual keep the engine rev too high and can get annoying.

I'm really liking everything about the Fit. Probably the only small car I would buy.

Nice! finally starting to land... This is top 3 on my list of cars to buy soon, can't wait to take one for a spin.

And to the person comparing it to a civic... the fit has a lot more interior room/storage than a civic, and would be way better for hauling things (ie: bikes, snowboards, etc.).

I really wish honda gave us the skyroof, and if there is no nav that will suck... I will need to buy a nav dash out of the US then. :thumbsdow

How come they always do this? Why can't they just make fifth gear really long? Not having Navi sucks too, unfortunately.

Other than those two things it looks pretty good

The car was meant to be an urban runaround not a highway cruiser. And I'm dissapointed in how little fuel saving they've managed from the last gen to this one considering the advances everyone else has been pushing.

Saw one of these in Japan when I was there earlier this year. Looks pretty good in person. Also "looked" quite large from the shape.

Has any one confirmed that the you can still easily fit the 09 model fit with a RSX type-S engine swap?

Took one for a test drive yesterday with the girlfriend and she seems to enjoy it quite a bit. Seats are comfy and the steering is tight.
