Going out for Italian in a few hours, tried Buon Giorno before it's amazing, San Remo has bad reviews, East Sides...Well just no haha.

Also tried the one on Center street that is half pub half italian resto beside the Italian Market.

Someone suggest a different maybe less known, authentic Italian place to eat at out this way.

sandro's on mcknight and 32nd NE is AWESOME, but not sure if you'll be able to get in today or not, usually have to make reservations about a week in advance.

:werd: Sandro's has been my family's benchmark Italian restaurant for years and anytime we go to another, we're always comparing it to them. I highly recommend the linguini and clams in the red wine sauce.

Sort of off topic, but I was told about La Vita Bella today. Looks awesome. Have any of you tried it?

Dolce Vita just didnt do it for me, i am not sure why. La Luna Rosa is always closed for the month of Aug as they go to Italy, Pulcinella is great + always some wicked rides parked in that area. Try out Il Centro for lunch sometime as well...behind the red lobster by chinook. IMO best Za in town.

Sandro's is named after my buddy, and his dad (the guy that started it) is the guy that runs Abruzo and is the head chef.

right on. tell them that they have GREAT food, but their service is absolute horseshit and that's why I haven't been there in about two or three years.

when I used to go to that place frequently, I was about 25 or 26 years old, and the servers would literally ignore me and my girlfriend, i'm guessing because we looked 'young' to them and they presumed that we wouldn't be spending a lot or leaving a good tip. they would be very slow in bringing drinks, bread (if we even got it), etc. and would not check up on us to see if everything was OK. meanwhile, we get to sit there enjoying our hunger pains for 45 minutes and watch them wait hand-and-foot on older couples or larger groups.

I understand they think old people and large groups might drop more $$$, but this is totally not true and they are also losing customers like myself because of this. actually, when i get service this shitty, I usually buy less because i'm not enjoying the expereince and would rather get dessert or drinks elsewhere. and I leave $0.00 for a tip.

then, i took my boss and his wife out for dinner there on my boss' birthday (they are in their early '60s, and very wealthy-looking). we had EXCELLENT service that night. funny thing is, I paid the bill and the tip....

so you should mention this to the guy that owns that place, beceause i'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks this. i still recommend this place to people, though, cause the food is best in the city.

the service at il centro is even worse though. what's with these shit dago waiters
