Hello!

I'm interested in getting experience in the Mac OS system and am quite interested in buying an iMac. Since I've never used this type of OS before, which is suitable for Dreamweaver and Photoshop applications? A refurbished 2.0Ghz ($999.99) or new 2.4Ghz ($1258.xx with student discount)? The hard drive is pretty fast (7200RPM) so it's just a matter of processor.

Since the price difference could also be used to upgrade the RAM, I'm not sure what to get. Will a faster CPU help me along the way? It's dual core which is good for hyper-threading.

I have no problems with refurbished items and as long as it can do those things, I'm a happy man.

Thanks and hope you can help.

more power the better. osx loves ram so max it out, ram is cheap. (don't buy extra ram from apple)

Their RAM is so overpriced. $288 vs. $109 at Memory Express

So basically, 2.4Ghz and upgrade the RAM as well? Aiya...

I just want to use Mac. I want to double-boot my laptop but I'm scared.

The OS is super easy to learn and get the hang off, it all depends on your budget, if you can afford the pc + a ram upgrade get the 2.4ghz one, if not the 2.0ghz one.

Hahaha well if that's the case, then yes, an iMac is better.

Eww indeed.

Exactly...

OS X on a PC is not like running windows on a mac, where it actually works BETTER...
