The old man has asked me to find wheels for his 88 911 turbo. I'm thinking keep with the stock looking theme black with polished lip. I don't know offsets and quality European brands. Please post what you think and where he can buy them.

Any preference in style? Mesh/5-spoke? How much are you looking to spend?

Take a look at wheels offered by BBS, Kinesis, Fikse, RH, Work. All of these are going to cost some major $$$$$$$ for fitment on a 930 911 though.

Best bet would be to contact Tunerworks (www.tunerworks.com) and/or browse some Porsche forums for more info.

Let's talk :D I own a 930 and know all the ins and outs of putting the correct wheels on them.

I would normally spec a 17" or 18" set. How serious of a set does he want? I love to use 295s or 315s on the rear

Does the car have any other mods?

Shoot me an email if you want more info.

Speedling 18" is the best!! (OEM 1994 Turbo S wheel)

but they are hard to find... and very expensive ( 3 piece ) may be some replica ..

It costed $10K for a set for 18" with tire back then .. :banghead:

I know they are heavy, but I've always been fond of the the 17' RUF Speedlines from the mid 80's.

They just look badass.

Those cars you saw rolled out of our shop :D

WORK Brombachers are VERY tough to beat for a 930 and they are available in 17" - 20" (I suggest 17" or 18") in a variety of colors. I almost bought WORKs for my 930 but went with HREs instead.

The 18" Speedline 3.6 wheels were never made to fit a 930 (large spacers are required and the lip depth is weak) but RH makes a P3.6 wheel for the 930 that looks similar and fits (see blueish 930 w/965 kit above).

The old RUF wheels do look great but they are mighty heavy and only available used. Then, if you wreck one... :whipped:

Oh, not to pick on you but the wheels in your pics are old Speedline Alessio 3pc wheels, not genuine Porsche/Speedline 3.6.

See attached.

Rob I would say price range would be around 4g. Maybe a little more for something really nice. I think maybe 18"s would be a little big? I think he would like the black with deep polished lip, in spoked style. Would it be necessary to lower after wheels to avoid 4x4 look?

As for upgrades I know he just did the turbo and cam, as far as specifics he doesnt know what type.

Depending on the tires you want we could certainly do a set of 17" or 18" Works w/tires in the $4k range. Work will build black centers with polished lips and the wheels will accept factory Porsche center caps if you want an OEMish look.

Both 17" and 18" look great on 930s but the car will always look better lowered.
