HELP!: Honda Factory Alarm on 98 Civic DX

Hey my girlfriend was gasing up her car on Tuesday night. She never got out of the car and when she went to start the car it wouldn't turn over but all the display lights were working.

So than she asked the gas jockey to help her he told her to try again than the alarm starts going crazy.

So I figured the battery was pooched. I tried jump starting and cleaning up the battery terminals but nothing.

Everytime you put the key in and turn it over to start the alarm goes crazy. You either have to wait the 60 seconds or disconnect the battery to get it to stop. When you reconnect the battery it will sounds again for about 20 seconds.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the doors at all as I have tired locking/unlocking the doors many times.

I have tried to put it into valet mode. (turn the key 5 times) but nothing.

I am convinced that something in the ignition is pooched but I wanted to ask around before I start ripping the ignition out.

Also it does not have the OEM stereo anymore it has an aftermarket.

There may be a starter kill relay that is hooked up.
Yoiu should have a push button under the dash somewhere,
turn the key on and off and then push the button once.

Now try the starter.

If thast does not work, turn the key on and push and release the push button.
