i'm looking for a new car, ive got 13,000-16,000 to spend and tonight i found a 2002 Mustang (3.8L) 5 spd with 12,000km and my dad managed to talk the guy down to $15,600 this car is in immaculate shape and has a warranty that lasts till 100,000km or 2007 but im just not to sure about it

i have never really been a mustang fan and im not to sure about buying this car because before this car we had a deposit on a 96 Talon TSI for about the same price but we were 2nd in line and the 1st guy bought it with 10min left on his deposit,

i really want an import but this deal is almost to good to pass up

i could use your guy's opinions because its only being held until tomorow night

thanks

Seems like a decent price. I would seriously think about getting the 4.6L or at least make sure that you wont regret buying the v6 model

I rented a stang convertible (v6).

Let me say. I was totally disappointed. It took a lot of gas too.

keep saveing and pick up a base model 2005 stang in 10 months. alot nicer looking imo and you wont be happy with a 2002 when those hit the streets. just a thought

Its up to you really. The base model V6 isn't anything to write home about performance wise, but you can do some fun stuff to them, and if you don't like the motor after awhile its not like a V8 swap is difficult to do on the car. The base model cars handle not too bad and stop reasonably well for such a heavy car, they just lack oomph.

www.supersixmotorsports.com has all kinds of performance mods for the V6.

check out www.kennybrown.com as well, they have some V6 stuff. (suspension, dual exhaust setups...)

Also www.procharger.com has a nice supercharger you could bolt on...

They aren't spectacular, I'll be buying one in the next few months though. It'll be more for cruising though. Fully loaded, leather the works... But if your into going fast with the V6, the above links should give you an idea of the potential.

don't settle for something that you are not too sure about. I drove a few V6 stangs and was dissappointed with the power. A car is a big purchase, with patience you will come across something nice.

I have a friend with a 2001v6 stang and a 4.6 stang... acceleration difference is like night and day.... I would save my money for the 4.6 if possible, super hot car. gas mileage isnt so hot though.. but hey its a v8
