On the corner of 8th street and 13th avenue S.W. The Yukon was parked too close to the corner on the south-east corner of the intersection and the bus was making a right turn from northbound 8th street to 13th avenue. I had just dropped my wife off at work when I noticed the bus wedged in the road-way. Interesting thing is, even though the Yukon really shouldn't have been parked there the bus still had enough room to fit around it. Bad driving is to blame for this one, although maybe the guy will think twice about parking there again. Not saying he deserved it, but it is not legal to park there.

At first I was more concerned about getting license plates of the vehicles involved (since obviously the owner of the Yukon wasn't there) and I don't have any pics of the bus resting against the corner of the yukon, but I have some after pics. Sorry they were taken with a camera phone, and despite my best efforts to steady my hands I just couldn't get them super clear.

The bus involved is a "First Student Canda" (used to be cardinal?) bus, I have it's number and license plate, and the plate of the yukon. I'm hoping somebody can help me track down the owner of the yukon. I waited a few minutes then came back to leave a note (so the bus driver wouldn't throw it away), but after 20 minutes they had called another bus down to take over his route, and the bus driver was just standing there beside his bus, blocking all of 13th ave. Still no cops at this time, and I doubt they would come out for something like this. I had somewhere to be so I had to leave at this time. I didn't want to start any shit with the bus driver and I know any notes I left would get thrown out anyways, so I just left.

If somebody can help me track down the owner of the Yukon so I can send them a letter or call them with the bus information (just to make sure they have it) it would be much appreciated.

For those who would say "this thread is worthless without pics" I say this thread is worthless WITH pics because they are utter crap, but here they are anyways :)

The bus, blocking the whole road:

The bus driver checking it out:

I don't think he parked this close....

Rear shot (sorry this is blurry):

Side pic of the damage:

The damage didn't look really bad, but the tail light is broken, the quarter panel has a big groove in it and some other dents, and the bumper is twisted with all of the plastic on it broken. If the owner of the Yukon is on here, I have higher res pictures I can provide as well.

Please Beyond CSI, help me find the owner. I can provide the license plate of the Yukon to anybody who can help.

Oh, and before somebody says it, I am calling the police to report this as well, but they appear to be rather busy right now so I'll try them back later.

Props to Zero102 for sticking around and doing the right thing. Even if it amounts to nothing it's good to know people out there are willing to spend 5 minutes of there time to save someone else a ton of grief.

Once on file it's all good.

That's why you are not allowed to park within 5 m of a fire hydrant, a stop/yield sign or an intersection. Both parties have some blame in the incident (the bus driver more so obviously).

Next time just put a note on their windshield.

Next time read the thread. He DID think of the brilliant note idea.
