well, i know neither the thread starter or the seller, but i do work with eye glasses and i wanna say that oakleys are among the best.

these glasses are the shit, in every way.
solid construction, great style, easy replacement of lenses if theyre damaged, and they provide UV protection for your eyes, as well as being polarized.

if youve never driven with polarized lenses.... well, i feel sorry for you, cause mine have cut down the glare enough that ive avoided two potential problems... one i nearly hit a pothole that woulda blew a tire, and two, when a kid ran out in front of me.

theyre worth it folks...

anyways, im getting off the soap box... consider this a bump and some friendly advice. :)

This is a great deal guys...they're going for about the same on ebay, but you'd have to pay duty and all that shizzle. One of the best frames available...it's too bad that I'm a maui jim/serengeti fanatic..or else I would've pounced.

Hmm I have a pair of Juliets I no longer wear, wonder if I should sell it too? hehe

I have the 24k xmetal xx's.. they're like, the bigger versions of the juliets. Then again, I also have a pair of juliets too. :)

they only come in one size, but made the xx's for people with bigger faces in wider places. *L*

I think the minutes are pretty close to being the smallest ones they have, without going into the childrens line.

I just bought the oakley splice, and they are wicked beyond belief. I would deffinately recomend Oakley's to anybody.

Can somebody tell me the major difference with and without polarized?? I've owned like 11 or 12 pairs of oakleys, but never the polarized.

If you can believe it, I wore my 700 shades jetskiing, without a restraint, and they stick to my head no prob. I opted for the polerized lens' because they kill most reflections. This includes reflections off water, and snow, so they own when skiing and they rule while on/near water. they are also great driving cause it cuts down on reflections from sun comming through the windshield.

People say you gotta be crazy to pay that much, but thats wrong...wear them for a day and you'll know why. :)

like i said in my post, theyre WORTH it, very much so.

you ever get glare blinded when driving? you dont with polarized
you ever get eyestrain when driving? itll take a LOT longer with good sun glasses
you care about the health of your eyes? get good sunglasses
you like seeing things as they are? (photographers, listen up) get good sunglasses.

its all about the lenses, the frames can be absolute shit (serengettis, lol) but if the lenses are good, then youll thank yourself every time you wear them.

and i dont just mean when its sunny, wear em when its overcast too, thats when the suns doing the most damage to your eyes.

cmon folks, its your eyes, you only get one pair, 600 bucks is cheap insurance that will help you see better when your 50

yeah yeah, this sounds like a sales pitch...
ive said my bit, im gonna shut up now.

Should've bought one good pair of polarized oakleys. hehe..

Go to sunglass hut and put on a pair of maui's or serengetis....dogstar's right...the frames are crappy, but the a pair of cheap serengetis saved my ass during a major thunder storm in montana by increasing the contrast between the yellow road stripes from the black....all while staring at intermitten flashes of lightning and evening sun glare. REvo's aren't too bad either.

revos actually have the best mass production lens out there, the h2o
you pay for it, think the cheapest revos are like 450 bucks, but its the best lens you can get, aside from custom made serengetti "drivers" or something with a fuckin $800 nikon lens, lol.

hmm, my acid test for sunglasses tho...
go to a mall with a skylight over the sunglass hut, then step into just the right spot.... you know the spot, where the sun glares off the tiles in the floor, off the mylar baloons hanging off a tree, off the window of the gap... that spot that always blinds you when you walk past.

then put on some polarized sunglasses and check out the chicks(or guys, for you ladies)

heh id rather put up with a little glare while driving than dump 600+ into a pair of sunglasses. for reference, tuition is $2400/semester at the u of a.

to each their own, just trying to help some folks see the light :)

i figure if you spend 600 bucks, and keep the glasses for 6 years, which with a good pair, you can easily do, it works out pretty cheap, like 8 bucks a month.... worth it to me, but maybe im the fool.

Jeff has a point...sunglasses aren't very high up the Maslow. However, if anyone is thinking of spending over $100 in a pair should seriously look at something polarized...I mean, cheapo serengeti/maui's go for around $150-200 (saw some Revo's for $250-300). A bonus is that you can spot cops easier with reduced glare. :)
