Just curious, does anyone know when the new facelifted 2009 3-series sedan will be hitting dealerships here in Canada?

The BMW canada website's got information (pics, etc.) but not the configurator yet (like the US and some European countries have up already).

I'm very curious to see how the new dakota leather color options will look in person: Oyster, Chestnut brown and Saddle brown.

Does anyone know when BMW dealerships are supposed to be getting the new brochures for the 2009 E90s?

I've stopped in a couple times in recent weeks and never get a straight answer from the sales folks.

Don't expect anything until late October.

C4S didn't buy one... haha, he used to sell them.

I will let you guys know .. :D

Man .. I am pissed .. 2009 3 series is WAY cheaper then 2008 .. ~ $5K with same options ..

Even compare to US .. $45KUS vs $48K Cad with same options on a loaded 328i ... :banghead:

I want a real physical tree-killing paper copy that I can take home with me, to put on my coffee table to read and drool over again and again.

It's definite good news for someone like me who hasn't bought yet but is in the planning stage. :bigpimp:

The recent price adjustment has almost certainly wiped out any remaining thought and indecision I may have had of buying a 328i. I'll be primarily focused on (and budgeting for) a 335i now.

PS - on the topic of 328i vs 335i, one of the unfortunate things for the 328i is how they've configured the new option pkgs. I was playing around on the configurator on the website and it looks like you can't have just the sport & exec pkgs. If you want the exec pkg ($2500), you HAVE to select the premium pkg ($2800 - leather, etc.) as well. That means you go basically all or nothing.. a $5300 swing. Ouch. If I was buying a 328i, could I live with JUST the sport pkg and nothing else? Maybe... but that sucks that you don't have more flexibility on the luxury options you can choose from. That means if you go 328i w/ sport, exec & prem pkgs, you have spec'd a ~$48k 328i. Ouch again. Given all that why would you NOT get a 335i.

I'm pretty sure I saw some on a truck last night on NB crowchild heading up to crowfoot I would assume.

The tail lights looked different, that's about all I noticed though.

does the 09 come with DCT option?

I think once you see an '09 up close you'll notice the hood change is a more significant change than the taillights.

Gone is the "moustache" on the front edge of the hood, and the new hood has several new creases... I'm not sure if I'm going to prefer that new look long term, but we'll see.

lease rate is still high at 6.9% for MY09, any chance it will go down in the next 6 mos?

It should go down in November. Historically it does.

The finance rate is 3.9% which is not bad, but high compared to the 1% they were offering on the 08s.

I'm hoping they bring back the $4-5k cash incentives as well, further into the model year. I'm patient... I can wait.

They probably won't. They just lowered the MSRP.

C4S

09 price is like $3-4K less then 2008 .. ( with same options )

And within 10% to US price, a $45K US 328i, is $49K cad now .. with 1.097 exchange rate, and duty ... that is pretty good.

I have chatted with Joe, BMW Canada director of marketing, for 2009, they offer much LOWER MSRP, but not cash incentive/low rate as 2008 model.

At the end of the day .. pay the same .. $3K rebate .. vs $3K lower price .. 2% rate with $3K higher price, vs 7% rate at $3K lower price ..

Payment for 08 vs 09 would be within $50 more or less .. ;)

That, plus there's still some room for some good 'ol fashion negotiation right?

(I don't pay sticker)

Yeh, free car mats, haha!

Don't expect too much though; the bread & butter MY09s will sell themselves.

Back in 2005, I managed to negotiate about $2,500 off IIRC. I took that and ran.

BTW, since you're from Edmonton, buy from Doug @ Edmonton BMW; he'll take care of you. Don't go to Bavaria, they're a bunch of pompous pricks over there, especially Will (Bill). He's not going to give you the time of day unless you prove to him how much money you have in your bank account.

Once he saw what car I drove, he switched from pompous prick to spewing shithead mode, trying to explain anything & everything about the E70 I was helping my parents buy. Needless to say, I drove across town to Edmonton BMW & signed on the line within 1 hour of walking in.

Well, I'll try to hold out and buy mid-to-late in the model year's cycle. I'm in no rush.

Thanks for the tip. A friend of mine (from Calgary) did well at that dealership too.
