Coming into the winter driving season I wanted to give a huge  to Bob at Urban Expressions Wheel & Tire.

First looking for winter tires for the 5+ vehicles I needed them for, I checked TireRack. Yes, they are based out of the US and yes they have great tire prices.
After filling my shopping cart with 12 tires (3 out of the 5 vehicles) I checked on shipping costs etc, and came to a total.

After jotting down tire types, quality, etc., I called around a few places in town (sponsors and others). When calling around I would ask for the first car, then the second, and third. Everywhere I would ask 'well, if I get all 12 tires from you, can you give me a better price than the one just quoted?' A few said no, and a few took off ~$5 per tire.
After calling all but two places (Urban Expressions, MyTires) I did a quick summary to see where all the prices were at. After looking through my summary, no one could touch TireRacks price (shipping included) - so I didnt expect much from the last two suppliers.
After calling MyTires, their prices landed a in the middle of all the rest and again above TireRack.
Lastly, I called Bob at Urban Expressions. I asked for each car individually, didn't say I'd come pick them up right away, didn't ask for discounts etc.
Right off the bat he was ~$75 less than TireRack. Massive savings? Not really, however...

Great prices, way better than anyone local? Yes
No need to haggle and bargain? Yes
Great customer service? Yes
Ability to provide comparables in price and quality? Yes
Being able to buy locally with no worries about warranty, recalls or customer service? Priceless  (:D )

Anyhow, I could have made this post shorter - but Bob has been 10/10 for myself or anyone else I know that has ever been in need of his products, service, or expertise.

Big  to Bob at Urban Expressions!

Yes, Bob is the best in town.

Earlier this summer I was looking for some wheels and tires for My STI for the summer, and Bob was very quick to set me up with a great deal on some nice 18" Rota's I was after, and a great price for tires as well. I will continue to deal with and recommend Bob to anyone I know.

Best price, Best service. Simply the best.

Doesn't hurt that his shop is directly across the street from mine either.. I know where I'll be getting all my tires done in the future.

No one beats Bob. I've had a few other shops to just tell me to go to him if I'm looking for a good price.
It's like they all gave up hahaha

He has great prices and excellent service. I always take my tire installs to him. It is the only place where I trust to have my wheels mounted and balanced without damaging the rims.

I had him mount and balance my JDM Forester STi rims with tires. Quick and friendly service as always

Thanks again Bob and your install guy (sorry I forgot your name)

I've bought winter tires and full rim/tire sets from Bob too, very informative, skilled and knowledged about his products. And always explain pricing and not afraid to explain why some products are more expensive with him (the advantage/disadvantage; like how you can buy certain, not all, tires cheaper in the US, but you don't get a local warranty or service if anything happens within town)

He's so manly in that lab coat, you never know when he's gonna show the goods.

When you turn right on 12th street, make a left on 44ave. It's going to be a few stores down on your right, they'll have a sign that says Urban X Wheel & Tires.

yeah.. He must be damn busy, I've left a message for him and 3 out of the 4 times I call, it's his answering machine.
The one time I got through, it was one of his employees and I was on hold for 6 minutes and decided to wait again..

Thanks everyone for the fantastic support from Beyond!!!

Due to the massive influx of inquiries and business at this time time of year I am finding it impossible to return PM's in even close to a timely manner. I wish I had the means to just hire a ton of people to relieve the pressure but these short bursts of seasonal business do not allow for this luxury so for now all we can do is plow through it all.

If you can, please call 403.769.1771 or come by the shop at Bay #6, 1303 44th ave NE. This will help get you taken care of in as timely a fashion as possible. I hope you can all understand as I pride myself on doing what is best for my customers, and at this time of year I just can't get my messages, PM's and e-mails answered easily. Just not enough time in the day! Also, I do have Lorne helping me so please do not be shy to talk to him as well... Don't forget to mention you are a Beyonder!!!

Thanks again for all your support Beyond!!!

think its time to hire another person if people arnt getting calls back. I wish it were that easy... It is busy like this for 2 months in the fall, then in January, February, March it is totally dead. Can't just hire people who know what they are doing only to have to lay them off again at the end of the season, nor can you train someone in this time either...

Just gotta plow through and as the business grows more year round I can start bringing more people in. I have already expanded to 4 of us from just myself at this time last year and I am not going to just have extra bodies who are not capable of doing anything properly for the customer as that hurts my reputation more than being so busy for 2 months that I can't do everything at once. I feel being a responsible business owner means not trying to grow faster than I am capable of sustaining reasonably. I want to make sure we are there for the long haul for all those that work for us and for those that are customers of ours...

Growing pains... It takes time. Please try to remember, even though I personally have been around for quite a while, I only opened up the business not even a year and a half ago.

Please accept my deepest apologies to anyone that is having trouble getting through to us at the insanely busy time of year... And to those that have had the patience to ride through this time and still remain loyal customers, a HUGE THANKS from all 4 of us at Urban X!!!

Hey Tirebob! I tried calling you at your shop today but you were too busy =D Anyways, I have a 2003 mini cooper s, and I am having a heck of a tire with my current winter tire/rim setup. I bought a pair of 185/65/15 winters and a set of 15x6 4/100 multi-fit steelies from canadian tire (regretting that decision already!!). Ive had them balanced twice and still, the vibration is there at ~90km/hr. Im wondering if you can fit a set of hubcentric rings to steelies, and if not, do u have any winter steels that would fit "hubcentrically" out of the box without any rings or anything, and if so, how much for 4 =) Thanks!!
