Yup, 5 lanes to 1 lane both directions as per the news @ 6 tonight.

They said Monday would be back to normal.

This construction should've been completed in the summer before everyone came back from vacation. They had more than enough time. There was a span of months when no work at all was done on Glenmore, yet the weather was cooperating and traffic was light.

It's very poor planning on the City's part.

:werd: As always. The 16th Ave Widening comes to mind as well. That whole stretch is always deserted of workers during the day - but they still manage to keep lanes closed.

The other big mess up is the bridge reconstruction on bow trail...that was supposed to be open a couple weeks ago.

Although I cant speak for the roads department I know that while the city doesnt try to do road repairs with surgical precision they usually try to do the best they can given the resources/system they have. Maybe they closed it down to one lane for a day or so because if they did it step by step it would close 3 lanes down for a week.

I will say that the 50km/h construction zone speed limits are absolutely retarded half the time. Crowchild and nose hill has had a 50km/h limit for like a year now and i have only once seen a worker outside of their concrete barricaded zone. There really is no reason for it except that the temp roads they set up are so shitty that 1/2 the cars will bottom out on the bumps if you go any faster
