I'm sure this has happened to everyone, and I've searched the internet far and wide to find a bunch of useless crap that doesnt work. Some sites have said things like baby oil or dishsoap with some hard scrubbing and great.. but no.. not even the weird stuff works..

Anyone have any tried, tested, and true methods for removing oil stains from a concrete driveway?

thanks.

tried that. went through alot of it.. and that stuff is WAY too expensive. that was the first thing I tried considering it removes pretty much anything.

The degreaser? tried that. didn't take the stains out. but made the areas around the stains ridiculously clean.

I use my 1900psi pressure washer to remove oil stains. Gotta get it right close though, but it does work.

There is a certain technique I use when using brake clean to get rid of an old oil spill.

First of all you will need some industrial stuff, none of that spray can bs.
You dump it on and straight away [I mean 2 seconds] you put floor dry on it, and move it backwards and forwards with a broom.

If you leave the brake clean sitting there it just evaporates and wont do fuck all.

Works every time for me.

^^ Really?

Will be trying that tomorrow on some serious stains. Can't wait to see if there are results!

floor dry? like sawdust? kitty litter? etc etc.... or are you referring to an actual floor dry product?
And where can I get industrial brake clean?

I get mine from work, so honestly I wouldnt know what to tell you.

You can get actual floor dry from anywhere such as crappy tire.

Ive heard of mineral water and letting it sit for 15 minutes then taking a high pressure hose and rinsing it off.

I've used gasoline. Pour a little on the stain, scrub a little, let it sit for a few seconds, then absorb it up and spray away with a hose.

Had this exact problem on Sunday. Changed the oil in my sisters car. Pull the oil drain plugged and the cock sucker started spewing and just rimmed the top of the bucket to catch the oil. Anyways shit started running down my driveway. Wiped it down right away with a rag and absorbed as much as i could. After I finished the oil change, i sprayed some that engien degreaser shit on and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then took the pressure spraying to it. Still had a stain left, so i sprayed some more of the engine degreaser on it and then scrubbed with a broom. Stain is pretty much gone....so much i didn't even notice it in the morning after everything dried. Just if you're up close and really looking for it.

Go to a gas station and pick up that spill absorber stuff (last time my buddy just went with a bucket and scooped some). It looks like small pebbles or kitty liter, but when you step on it, it crumbles. Should do the job.
