Gallardo TT ain't got nothing on me :burnout:

Unfortunately Darwin wants round 2 with me - I can't figure out if the fact my alternator bolt isn't fully seated in the bracket is a problem or not - I can't suck it in anymore (it's already torqued around 30ft-lbs, so not going to tighten it anymore), the alternator has no slop in it, but damn, this does not look safe

Can you not grind down the tip of the bolt? That engine is sweeeet!

Looks good. What car/kit is that? As for the bolt, I agree it doesn't look right. Looks like it's too long (obviously). Any chance you can get a shorter bolt?

cross thread? i don't think 30lbs would start to strip them, esp on new bolts and threads. If not that, it has to be missing a spacer or washer (doubtful as it is not the slider bolt), or it is the wrong bolt all together.

Oh, is there anything in the bolt hole either, give it a shot of compressed gas, see if anything comes out...

Looking at it again fresh today, I think it's the bolt - the first two threads on it are slightly buggered up (not overly, just slightly, but maybe that's enough to stop it) ..... I can thread a 'regular' 7/16'' in more than I can thread that bolt in, so probably is the bolt. *sigh*

Everybody (ackland, bolt supply, etc...) is closed on weekends; what's the chance they carry a 7/16''x6'' hex head bolt that I need. Of course not knowing my luck

Success! The threads in the head were really fvcked up. Bad on me for assuming that they would have been cut properly. Had to run a tap through it several times (i've never re-tapped a head hole before, so I was pretty nervous, but came out okay!)

Then it'd be able to hammer a TTTT (quad turbo :nut: ) Gallardo
