For sale is my mint condition BMW E30 M3. I have owned this car since 2000 and only because I am moving to Japan am I considering selling it. Owning and driving this carfor the past 8 years has been an absolute joy. I've driven many high performance cars over the years and I can tell you that very few cars come close to matching the exhilarating experience (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkQBD3eYADA) of driving an E30 M3. From the rawness of the F1 derived motor to the perfect balance of therace designed chassis, this is truly one of the last great homologation special road cars.

History of the BMW E30 M3

I won't go into to much detail about the history of the BMW E30 M3 but if you feel like reading I have many BMW E30 M3 articles (http://www.motoyen.com/?page_id=3) on my main site. The BMW M Registry also has a nice FAQ (http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=8) on the differences between the E30 M3 and the rest of the E30 line.

I will tell you that only 5300 M3's were imported into North America between 1988 and 1991 and by many estimates less than half are still on the road. The reason why you see such a huge price variance in these cars is that owners of mint condition cars rarely sell them. The ones that pop up on Craigslist of Ebay are usually former track cars that have been converted back to street form.

I am the 4th owner of the car and I have the complete history of the car from the exact date it was sold at Autowest BMW in Richmond. I have the service stamps going all the way back to 1988 and I can even introduce you to the actual mechanic that worked on the car so many years ago.

Consistantly voted as one of the greatest cars of all time (http://www.automobilemag.com/features/lists/twenty_five_greatest_cars/0709_25_greatest_drivers_cars/index.html), owning a BMW E30 M3 reminds you of a time when enthusiasts built cars. When it didn't take a computer degree to dianose a misfire and when you controlled the car not a computer. The E30 M3 isn't a particularly fast car (0-60 in 6.7 seconds:top speed 145MPH), especially compared to modern over powered machines coming out of Germany but is it just so much fun to drive. Throw this car sideways into a corner and the chassis will let you know how close to the edge you are, not some computer controlled mumbo jumbo.

The BMW E30 M3 is all about good old fashioned seat of the pants driving and very few cars can match the sheer exctiement of this race ready road car.

Offered at $24,500.00 CDN

This car is offered for sale in Vancouver, BC Canada. I still have many of the original parts so the car could be returned to stock appearance if the buyer wishes. For U.S. buyers please consult your local DMV for importation requirements as this is a Canadian spec car. To arrange a viewing of the car or if you have any questions please contact me via email at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]). More pictures of the car can be seen on my Flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/motoyen/sets/1143773/).

Thanks for looking, Anthony.

Yeah more and more people are importing them from Japan but they aren't much different from the North American ones. To get the much sought after special edition M3's you've got to look to Europe.

The price for these cars are all over the map. I've seen some go for as low as $8000 in the US and recently someone was trying to sell one for close to $60K in the auto trader.
