This might be a repost and if so my apologys. I did not see it anywhere on the first page for food and dining.

Singapore sams is fined after quality was not picked up. 17 inspections in 22 months showed several un sanitary things such as mice around food. The owners have been fined and if they did not pay the fine they would face jail time. The owner said the fine would be paid by the end of the day.

yea i have seen that site, it was a thread a while back.
I have friends that own certain small places and i found that there are common things that you see on alot of these smaller family owned places. Nothing to be worried about however critters around my food is something i am going to worry about.

yeah, I'm going to assume that 90% of chinese places have some sort of infestation problem. Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger right... or sick as shit... either one.

Exactly...and what you don't know cant hurt you but can make you sick with diarrhea.....


And if they're getting visited by the CHR regularly, it means they're focusing most of their time on making good food, and not cleaning up :thumbsup:

These places shouldn't get away with such deplorable hygiene standards, or disrespect towards the constantly failed inspections by organizations like the CHR. It's not that I have some naive image in my head of every kitchen I've eaten food from being sparkling clean, but at the same time, health codes exist for a reason. If the people they're designed to benefit are just going to spit in their face by saying "ah whatever it's fine" then I have no idea why we even bother to try and enforce some level of regulations. I mean this isn't a few dirty hands or unclean plates here, this is fucking mice being near the food you're about to eat. To shoot straight, just because I'm eating some foreign cuisine doesn't mean the foreign health standards (or lack there of in a lot of cases) should be included with that.

lol the fine is just a slap on the wrist. Their customers are probably 90% Asian who are fobs from 3rd world countries who have developed super strong immune systems. This stuff is can't harm them lol

ppffft health standards, when I was in the middle east, they actually hang the cow in the restaurant and cut the meat as they need it. Ate beef cooked on the side of road etc etc, never got sick or anything
