I was just in the Van/Richmond area last week. When getting gas, my friend who lives there told me to only buy gas in the evening, as price of gas always goes up the following morning.

What's the deal with that?? This a new thing in Richmond?? Tho I did save 4¢ off the displayed price, fighting with FOBs for gas at 10pm was pretty annoying.

thats how it is out there

people buy gas in the morning cause at night time they just want to come home after work and relax so gas companies increase the cost

Gasoline prices in Van is pretty crazy. It keeps changing throughout the day and if you go one block down from the gas station you're at... the price is different! Talk about a crap shoot.

it is like that out west and in Toronto... there is actual competition in those markets, which is one of the reason prices change all the time.

Huh, interesting. So how come it isn't like that in Alberta??

Whatever the name for a monopoly which isn't a monopoly (made up of many trying to screw you rather than one) is.

that's collusion to inflate prices (or remain the same) in an oligopoly

Just point to the sky and scream out GODZILLAAAAAAAA and watch everyone move outta the way. At least that works when I take out-of-town friends to Banff and we needed to get through Banff Ave. quickly.

Haha, I was out in Richmond a few weeks ago and was wondering the exact same thing!

At least it's consistent with lower evening prices.

Well at least in ditchmond you dont have to fight the FOBs for the pump nozzle as the attendant is required to fill up your vehicle there - bylaw from too many fobs not knowing where to stick it and 2 gas station fires later.
