Hey guys.

I'm looking at purchasing/relieving you of a really craptacular PC, that runs (ie gets past POST and into loading an OS and is stable and all that).

I would take things as old as a Pentium 2 with an 8 gb hard drive.

The reason for this computer will be to run a linux system, unprotected on the internet, for my IT Security class. I want to put up a honeypot system and watch how it is attacked and such.

I would be willing to pay up to $30 for a well running Pentium3/4, dependant on hardware included. This computer will be used for nothing else other than IT Security practice (ie leaving it unprotected on the net with a monitoring program running and watching the port requests, attacks, etc hit it) and must be able to run Ubuntu or OpenSUSE or Fedora Core or any base Linux system. OS *does not* need to be included.

Basic features that computer must have:

-PSU
-Video out of some kind (SVGA)
-USB connectivity of some kind preferred, but I have a spare PS/2 mouse and keyboard to use. If mouse/keyboard come with it, all the better

Please contact by PM or at my cell six 1 eight 9 eight 7 nine

www.vfxweb.com or you can have an ole K6-2 233MHz (266MHz?) topped out with 128MB EDO RAM, or I can part with a 600MHz Athlon system for real cheep.

YGPM.

Dunno how well that K6-2 will work, but from command-line linux or even a bare-bones XWin, should work :)

There's a CDROM drive in there too. The case is pretty nice with railmounts for the 5.25s and a removable caddy for the 3.25s, I just have to take out my Enermax and swap a cheesy PSU into it :D
