Why are Honda B series engines still so much god damned money? Ok I remember in 2000 when it was the tits to have a B16 in your EG, and you paid 3g's for it ect ect... but man, has the demand not died down enough yet? I'm looking at a B18C1 for my daily and it's still over 3 grand with everything, but a 2JZ-GTE/SR20 is under 2500 (and obv should be more in demand now with all the JDM stuff here)... What gives?

Supply and demand. Those who have them don't want to give them up.

From what I understand the B18C1 was only in production for 6 years and limited to the integra compared to the 17 years the 2jz has been in production and still is, hence why its cheaper.
I guess Honda's simply hold their value :D
and I guess they simply are just better :poosie:

You get what you pay for.
I'd rather be running a 2001 Honda GSR motor, than some 1989 JDM Nissan bullshit. OP is ignorant for comparing the two. Honda reliability is second to none when it comes to engine swaps. Besides, $3k is cheap.
Try owning something else.
Blow a motor on any Subaru and see if you can fix it with one credit card swipe.
