I remember I used to love eating these as a kid. Kind of scary - makes me wonder how far back they may have been making it that way.

wow.. completely forgot about these. There was only one kind I liked but then they started coming out with "fake" ones w/ similar packaging. What the heck is HAW?

Who knows... Haw Flakes were 95% sugar. At least, thats what my dentist told me when I had to go in for 7 root canals.
edit - Haw is Chinese Hawthorn, some sort of fruit.

WTF is with this China milk products... has it come down to the only way to get safe milk is directly from an Asian lady's breast?

Haw Flakes:
Haw flakes have been seized on several occasions by the United States Food and Drug Administration for containing Ponceau 4R (E124, Acid Red 18), an unapproved artificial coloring.[1][2]

White Rabbit rules! My dad still loves them! Even though he knows about the melamine, he still ate it.
"Who cares? I'm gonna die anyways. Might as well enjoy it while I last."
"Mmm... That melamine is soooo good. Chewy."
Anyone tried those cookies with the panda on it? It's always side by side with the koala ones and I always have a dilemma at Lucky's.

I'm pretty sure melamine has been in there for quite a while.. I think most of the people get sick because they dont drink enough water to move that stuff out of the body.

Blech.... Hate rabbit candy, hate the rice paper (I remember I used to peel it off), and hate haw flakes.. But I do like Sugus Candy until they seemingly changed them. There's probably more lead and mercury and other awesome stuff in those candy than melamine.
