Lot's of good reviews. Considering the price of Blurays...and if you have a large collection of dvds?

I would like to personally try this player on my own 106" screen. I'm happy enuf with upconverting on my 50" Sony as is.
Has anyone given this a go?

yea i saw that on a flyer and was wondering about that. I'd like to see how much of a difference it would actually make. Pretty much all of the movies i have are on DVD right now so it would be pretty cool if I could watch them in almost high definition without having to buy the bluray version. I wonder how well it actually works though:dunno:

It's just like any other upconverter, but with more intelligent filters.

Toshiba's new filters are "intelligent" enough to spice up the grass while leaving the sky and clouds free of noise, and while the contrast and color filters are less necessary, many consumers will enjoy their effect -- even if video purists would scoff at such alterations. If you're looking for something to magically make DVDs look like HD, this isn't it, but it bests Toshiba's best upconverter easily, and we'd venture to guess it's probably tops yours as well.

I'm a HD snob. I ONLY watch HD now (except hockey and F1).

i'm addicted to HD as well, but don't have it at home for cable, but i make up for it in HD movies (not bluray or DVD) ;)
